Schur
Schur is an artist, producer, and guitarist originally from Connecticut, now based in New York City. He’s built a sound that blends classic rock, hip-hop beats, and deeply personal lyrics, rooted in years of DIY recording, a love for Led Zeppelin and Kendrick Lamar, and a growing passion for creating visual art alongside his music. In this 4Cee Sessions podcast, Schur sits down for an open and thoughtful conversation about his journey, from learning guitar with his brother in a childhood rock band, to producing genre-blending tracks to quitting his day job and releasing a new song every two weeks as part of his upcoming project. We talk about the ups and downs of building a music career independently, his process of finishing songs and letting go of perfectionism, and the unique approach he takes to both music and cover art. He also shares stories behind fan favorites like “Timezones,” how his early resistance to hip-hop eventually became a source of inspiration, and what it means to stay creatively free while still pushing for growth.
